  1. Savannah and other Coastal Empire locations have the most expensive fuel in Georgia, with prices nearly 15 cents higher than the state average. Despite Georgia's average gas prices dropping, Savannah's prices remain high. According to AAA, the average gas price in Savannah is $3.51, making it the most expensive metro market in Georgia. Time is running out for Chatham County District Attorney Shalena Cook Jones to decide whether to file charges against former Savannah Police Officer Ernest Ferguson, who fatally shot Saudi Lee in June 2022. The GBI completed its investigation and handed over the case to the DA's office in August 2022, the family and the Racial Justice Network's Savannah Chapter have not heard from the DA's office. Officer Ferguson has been fired by the Savannah Police Department after a DUI arrest and was also arrested in Florida for allegedly shoplifting. (WSAV News)
  3. Two suspects involved in a reported kidnapping case fired shots at police officers after attempting to flee from a traffic stop in Savannah. The vehicle was later found abandoned and the adult female victim was located unharmed. The suspects remain at large as of Tuesday; police are conducting an ongoing investigation and asking anyone with information to contact them immediately. (WTOC News)
