  1. Savannah Holly Days has returned to the Savannah area. It started with Friday night's Christmas Tree Lighting on Broughton Street at 5:30 p.m. The most popular Savannah Holly Days event, Photos with Santa, will be offered through Dec. 24.   2. Savannah Historic Properties has planted six new oak trees downtown. The trees are 26 feet tall. The organization also planted three 30-gallon camellias along the 500 block of Tattnall Street. The trees have been featured in Savannah for over 200 years and are regarded as one of the city's most notable features. (WSAV-TV)
  3. The City of Savannah has sworn in a new full-time fire chief. Elzie Kitchen has been the city's interim fire chief since July 2. Kitchen is a longtime Savannah resident who first joined the City of Savannah in 1996. Kitchen is the city's 36th fire chief. (WJCL News Savannah)
