Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:
- The search for a missing toddler continues. The Chatham County Police Department has opened a tip line for information in the case of missing Quinton Simon, 20 months old. The department issued a statement on Saturday claiming that the case remains a high priority. The department re-canvassed areas on Sunday. The toddler has been missing since Wednesday, Oct. 5. - A three-car collision on Sunday resulted in one person dead. The incident occurred on Highway 17 around 5:00 a.m. The collision involved a 2021 Nissan van, a 20129 Chevy Silverado, and a Volkswagen Jetta. The northbound lanes of Talmadge Bridge were shut down for about two hours on Sunday morning while the crash was investigated and cleared. (WJCL News Savannah)
- The Chatham County Police Department reports a significant increase in shoplifting and gun thefts. According to Chief Jeff Hadley, there have been 326 shoplifting incidents this year — a 45 percent increase since last year. Most of the shoplifting incidents have been occurring at county Walmart stores. (fox28media.com)
