- About a week after the incident, 18-year-old Nazentea Phillips passed away from his gunshot wounds sustained on Mar. 5. Just before midnight on Mar. 5, police responded to an incident on E. 55th Street, where they found Phillips suffering from gunshot wounds; he was transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment. - Savannah has been recognized as one of the best cities in the south being voted as the number two best city by Southern Living. Of the 20 southern cities chosen, Savannah was voted second, coming right behind Charleston, South Carolina and even beating fourth-place Atlanta. With the town's amazing restaurants, historic neighborhoods, and beautiful squares, it comes as no surprise to locals the recognition the city received. (WSAV-TV)
- St. Patrick's Day is this weekend, and the visitors are slowly starting to pile in — a great sign for Savannah and its businesses. This coming weekend is expected to have record-breaking crowds even with a few changes made to this year's celebration. Unlike in previous years, there will not be drinks sold along the street, in an effort to encourage visitors to patronize local businesses. Additionally, River St. will be closed Friday-Sunday starting at 10 a.m. (WTOC)
