- Savannah's school zone cameras will activate this week. The cameras are meant to increase safety in ten school zones throughout the city. The official 30-day warning period, which notifies violators but does not carry a fine, starts tomorrow. The city has announced plans to add additional cameras in the future. - The Coastal Health District will be providing breast cancer screenings this month. The screenings are to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The screenings will be at no cost for women between the ages of 40 and 64 that meet certain income requirements. Click for a schedule of screening events in Chatham County and across the region. - The Savannah Fire Department reports that a kitchen fire has displaced four people. The fire occurred on Sunday at 5:27 p.m. in the Kensington Park neighborhood. Responding crews cut a ventilation hole in the roof to prevent the attic from being engulfed. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident. (WTOC)
