Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:
- The South Georgia State Fair returns to Savannah today. The fair is located at 105 Fort Argyle Road and will be operating through Sunday, Nov. 6. There will be an assortment of games, rides, foods, and live entertainment available. Admission at the fair gate will be ten dollars. Children five and under will be admitted for free. (WSAV)
- Savannah's new Hyundai plant could potentially build half a million electrical vehicles each year. Hyundai's global president, Georgia's governor, and various politicians attended the plant's groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday. According to Governor Kemp, the new plan is the state's "largest economic development project ever." The new plant will cost about $5.5 billion to construct. (Forbes)
- The Savannah City Council has approved new funding for video surveillance technology for the city's police department. The program will cost $149,072 for camera installation and software. The technology will help the department sift through surveillance footage to identify suspects by clothing, license plates, or vehicle model. The software will allow officers to search for identifiers by keyword. (The Current)
