Spooky Savannah: Historic Ghost Tours Make USA Today Top 10 List

SAVANNAH, GA — Ahead of All Hallows Eve, one of Savannah's creepiest attractions has been named a USA Today top 10 best ghost tour of 2022.

Ghost City Tours came in sixth against attractions in Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Texas, Hawaii, South Carolina and Arizona.

"Ghost City Tours take guests on a chilling journey through 'America’s Most Haunted City' by night, visiting locations throughout the Historic District, including haunted mansions, squares, cemeteries, bars and hotels (where some guests never checked out)," according to USA Today 10Best.

According to its website, Savannah's Ghost City Tours has four eerie features in the historic district.

The Grave Tales Ghost Tour is a history-based tour for people of ages 5-100. Visits to Savannah’s haunted mansions and historic homes, haunted cemeteries and burial grounds and a Revolutionary War battlefield are offered.

Not all of the ghost tours are for children. There are three considered to be adult-only.

The Beyond Good and Evil Tour sends guests on a trip to stately homes such as the Mercer-Williams House and 432 Abercorn. Attendees will journey through macabre, voodoo, ghosts, local folklore and legends.

The Dead of Night Ghost Tour, the newest feature in the lineup, uncovers stories of demons, murders and possessions. It is centered on "darker hauntings and more aggressive ghosts," according to the website.

The Ghost City Haunted Pub Crawl focuses on Savannah's historic and haunted bars and pubs.

While the Strangled, Not Stirred Pub Crawl is not a ghost tour, it is part of the Ghost City Tours and highlights true crime, murder, suicide and "the dark side of human nature," according to the website.

All tours are walking tours and last 90 minutes.
