- According to an email, Savannah State University President Kimberly Ballard-Washington officially resigned from her position effective Thursday, Apr. 27. Ballard-Washington states that this news is a result of some "personal issues" that have prevented her from meeting certain goals she's set for herself as president. Cynthia Robinson Alexander has been named the interim president in the meantime. (Savannah Now)
- On Friday, Apr. 28, the National Weather Service is expecting to see isolated strong thunderstorms circling the Savannah area. However, the threat of showers and storms will be much lower than it was yesterday, but officials are still urging residents to be careful. The risk of severe and scattered thunderstorms will continue throughout the weekend. (WJCL)
- The American Heart Association hosted its annual Go Red for Women luncheon on Wednesday, Apr. 26 that helped raise nearly $25,000 for people in need. The event was held at the Savannah Country Club and featured a silent auction, guest speakers, lunch, and a high-energy fashion show. All proceeds are dedicated to helping those struggling with heart disease and strokes in women through education, research, and prevention opportunities. (WJCL)

- A new study by Bumper.com found that electric vehicle 'charging deserts' – places where charging stations and ports are in short supply – stretch across states, largely divided by economic and racial lines. - The Humane Society for Greater Savannah announced that Guerrilla Yoga will be hosting its Kitten Yoga event on Saturday, Apr. 29. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and participants will get to engage in some relaxing yoga with plenty of adoptable kittens by their side. Tickets are $15 and all proceeds will benefit the Humane Society. (HumaneSocietySav.org)
- Star School Initiatives will be hosting a FREE Summer Camp specifically for young between the ages of 11 and 15 years old. The program is meant to prepare male students to master a rigorous curriculum and develop skill sets to effectively interact at home, with peers, the community, and the global society.
