Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:

  1. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp provided the Thursday morning Tropical Storm Ian updates from the Savannah Hilton Head International Airport. Governor Kemp was joined by the state's Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency Director and various local officials during the update. The Governor reported that the state's utility providers are prepared to respond to any power outages as they occur. (WTOC)
  2. Chatham Fire responded to an incident involving a stuck vehicle on Thursday. The vehicle became stuck near Bull River Bridge. The department is reminding the Savannah community to not drive through standing water. It is unknown if the vehicle's driver was still in the vehicle during the incident. (WSAV-TV)
  3. The Chatham County Police Department held a community forum on Wednesday about spotting potential violent situations. The department is starting to engage with the community to prevent terrorism and violence throughout the county. This community forum was the first step in that effort. The department is asking the community to report suspicious behavior before it escalates. (Fox 28 Savannah)
