Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:
- A Savannah Chatham County Public School System teacher has been administratively reassigned after an altercation between students on Wednesday. The male teacher became involved in the altercation while attempting to diffuse the situation. Four female students were involved in the altercation. The teacher has been reassigned to a non-school-related position pending the outcome of an investigation. (WSAV-TV)
- The Savannah Police Department confirms that it has fired Officer Ernest Ferguson. According to the department, he was not fired for the officer-involved shooting that occurred earlier this year. He shot and killed Saudi Lee, 31 years old, on Jun. 26. He was on administrative leave at the time of his termination. (WJCL News Savannah)
- It has been three weeks since the disappearance of Quinton Simon. The toddler went missing from his Chatham County home and 11 different agencies have been searching for him. The Chatham County Police Department reports that finding Simon remains their top priority. The department has been searching for his body at the landfill. (WTOC)
