- The Union Mission partnered with 4 the Jewel N U Global to provide bicycles to members of the homeless community in Savannah. Michael Traynor, United Mission's president and CEO, said that the effort is to help people who are homeless stay active as well as have transportation to jobs. Gen Mobile was also at Thursday's giveaway event with free phones. (WTOC)
- Savannah College of Art and Design is making plans to turn the former Ghost Coast Distillery into classroom space for students. Plans submitted to Savannah's Historic Review Board reveal that SCAD wants to make updates to the building, including changes to the building's front entryway and new exterior paint. The site of the former distillery is close to SCAD's Alexander Hall and a 17-story dormitory that is currently under construction. (WTOC)
- Registration is now open for Savannah's 2023 Summer Cheerleading Sports Camp! This camp is open to children between the ages of five and 15, and there are four sessions of the four-day camp scheduled for June. Campers will learn chants, cheers, pom-pom routines, techniques for crowd participation, and more. For more information, call (912) 351-3852. (WSAV)
