Arrests Made Following Vinings Shoplifting Incident, Chase
The getaway vehicle fled from the Starbucks parking lot, eventually crashing on Cumberland Parkway and Paces Walk, police said.

Cobb County police have made several arrests following a shoplifting which was reported at the Home Depot on Cumberland Parkway Friday afternoon, according to information released Friday afternoon.
Police said the shoplifting suspect was spotted just after 2:20 p.m. getting into a woman’s vehicle in the Starbucks parking lot. When officers attempted to make contact with the driver, she left the drive thru at a high rate of speed and struck an officer, knocking him to the ground. The driver then hit a civilian vehicle and two patrol cars.
The driver continued fleeing on Cumberland Parkway towards Atlanta Road, but lost control of the vehicle and crashed in the woodline at Paces Walk, police said.

The suspects fled the vehicle on foot, but were quickly apprehended by police. Police said they also found two juveniles in the vehicle, both of whom are now in police custody.
The investigation is ongoing. Heavy traffic and delays are persisting in the area.
