Here are the top three stories today in Smyrna-Vinings:

1. A new exhibition is on its way at the nearby Marietta Cobb Museum of Art! "Wayfinding: The Synthesis of Poetic and Visual Language" will open to the public with a reception on Jan. 7. The exhibition will feature individual poems written by the artist along with his paintings that correspond to the poems. (Marietta Cobb Museum of Art)
2. Looking for a great event to celebrate the New Year? The Strand Theatre, down the road in Marietta, will host a film and a concert as the theater's concluding events this weekend! Watch "Sleepless in Seattle" at 8:00 p.m. on Dec. 30 and "The NYE Show: The Music of Queen and Bowie" by The Georgia Players Guild at 9:00 p.m. on Dec. 31. (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)

• Calling all house hunters! Here are five open houses that have been recently listed in the Smyrna-Vinings area, including showings for a three-bedroom, four-bathroom townhome and a two-bedroom, three-bathroom townhome. (Smyrna-Vinings Patch)
• With rental prices expected to increase in 2023, experts caution renters to be alert and aware of possible rental scams. A woman down the road in Gwinnett County was reportedly scammed for $1,500 by an anonymous person who listed a property for rent that they did not own. (11Alive.com WXIA)
