- The Atlanta Hawks organization announced Grammy Award-winning artist Ne-Yo will perform this month at the State Farm Arena for the game against the Brooklyn Nets. The Atlanta Hawks are connecting the city's great entertainment and basketball culture with the highly acclaimed artist. The Hawks are looking to make a run in the Eastern Conference, standing eighth in the conference. The home team must win a few big games for better playoff seeding. The game will be on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Firefighters rushed into action Thursday night as a 2-year-old child fell down an elevator shaft inside a home in northeast Atlanta. Around 6 p.m., firefighters were dispatched after receiving a call that a child was trapped in the shaft. The child reportedly fell two stories and was pinned upside down between the wall and the elevator car; firefighters immediately shut off the power and breached the wall to save the child. It is unclear how the child fell down the shaft; however, the toddler was transferred to Grady Memorial Hospital to treat minor injuries. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- Yesterday afternoon someone shot at a car in a busy shopping center at the corner of South Cobb Drive and East-West Connector. Smyrna police arrived quickly at the scene, ensuring no damage was done. With several restaurants and a Publix grocery store nearby, the community is thankful there were no injuries, and police continue investigating the incident. (WSB Atlanta)
