Smyrna Woman Who Died At Lake Allatoona To Be Buried Monday
A Smyrna woman whose body was found in Lake Allatoona on Memorial Day weekend will be laid to rest Monday, June 5.
SMYRNA, GA -- The woman who was found dead at Lake Allatoona on Memorial Day weekend will be buried Monday, June 5, Patch has learned. Funeral services for Rhonda Tibbs, 55, of Smyrna were held Sunday at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.
An obituary published in the Marietta Daily Journal says that Tibbs worked as a hair stylist for Bass Hair Salon for the past four decades. "She was also an avid runner and ran in various road races, and enjoyed riding around the United States on the back of her husband’s motorcycle. She and her husband loved spending time on their boat at Lake Allatoona," the obit says.

Body Of Missing Smyrna Woman Found In Allatoona Lake
Tibbs was reported missing after last seen being seen on the dock at the marina on Friday night, May 26. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR)said Tibbs' body was found and recovered on May 28 around 12:30 p.m. by Law Enforcement Game Wardens near Park Marina.

The DNR said that officers conducted a search as soon as they received the missing person's report. Bartow County officials also launched an investigation into Tibb's disappearance, the DNR said. To aid their search, Game Wardens deployed sonar equipment and a remote-operated vehicle.
