  1. Due to damaged water lines from the December hard freezes, restrooms at three Smyrna parks are unavailable for the time being. Repairs are expected to be finished sometime this week. Two other restrooms at Chuck Camp Park and Brinkley Park will remain closed indefinitely due to repairs that will take longer. (City of Smyrna, GA Government via Facebook)
  2. January Movie Monday is kicking off next week at Switzer Library, just a short drive away in Marietta! The first featured film will be The Mighty Ducks, starting at 11 a.m. on Jan. 9. The library notes this is a sensory-friendly program, with closed captions and dimmed lights; movement and talking is also welcome. (Switzer Library)
  3. A Georgia House study committee is looking into the waste produced from the legal manufacturing of cannabis products. During the manufacturing of these products, only a small part of the plant is used while the rest is left as waste. The committee meetings will also discuss potential solutions to fix the waste issues. (Georgia Public Broadcasting)
