  1. Some Smyrna residents may see an increase in their water usage amounts for the next water billing period and possibly the one following. The increases are due to the significant cold weather which took place last month causing freezing which affected several customers' water lines to break. A Leak Adjustment policy can help mitigate the financial burden you may be under and can be accessed by emailing water@smyrnaga.gov or calling (678) 631-5338. (City of Smyrna, GA Government)
  2. A special grand jury in nearby Fulton County that was responsible for investigating alleged interference in the 2020 presidential election has completed its work. The judge overseeing the jury issued an order to dissolve it on Monday due to the jury's work being completed successfully. A hearing will be held on Jan. 24 to debate whether or not the jury's report should be made public. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
  3. A 60-year-old woman in nearby Kennesaw was struck and killed by a car while walking her dog. The incident happened on Saturday morning around 9:00 a.m. on Wooten Lake Road at Glenlake Parkway. Both the dog and the driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries. The investigation is ongoing. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
