Ash Wednesday and Stations of the Cross

Ash Wednesday Service and journeying through the Stations of the Cross.

Please join us at Snellville United Methodist Church for Ash Wednesday service on March 2nd at 6PM in the Chapel. Childcare will be available for children ages 3 and under.

During the Lenten Season, journey through the Stations of the Cross by “Breaking trail”.

"Breaking trail" is a term hikers use to describe something that happens when a group encounters deep snow that is tough to navigate. In order to continue their journey, someone has to “break trail”, or go ahead of the group to clear a path for the others to follow. Journey along the path Jesus took from Gethsemane to the tomb in this historic prayer journey traditionally called the Stations of the Cross.

The purpose of this prayer journey is to learn and reflect upon the meaning and the message of Lent. Each station will have a short Scripture passage and guiding reflection. Journey with us as we follow our trail breaker, Jesus, and experience God in a meaningful way. The Break Trail Experience is open to anyone who wishes to participate from Ash Wednesday to Good Friday (March 2 – April 15) in the Snellville UMC Courtyard from sunup to sunset.
