First Day of School, City Council Kickoff Campaign and Commerce Club: The Week Ahead in Snellville

What's going on in Snellville this week? 

Well, the Snellville Commerce Club is hosting its monthly luncheon at noon Tuesday, Aug. 6 in city hall. Congressman Rob Woodall is the guest speaker, and lunch will be catered by Big Daddy's Que. Admission is $15 (with food included), but first-time guests get in free and Snellville Tourism & Trade members at the Classic level or higher also have a free ticket.

Mayor Pro Tem Tom Witts is hosting a kickoff campaign for his re-election to the Snellville City Council from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8. Held at the Summit Chase Country Club (3971 Classic Dr. in Snellville), the free reception is open to the public as Witts announces his plans for a new term.

The city's monthly Blood Drive is this Friday, Aug. 9, from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Swing by Snellville City Hall to donate a pint of blood and you've done your good deed for the day. 

Once the weekend rolls around again, you know what that means: It's time for the weekly Snellville Farmers Market. Head to the town green in front of city hall from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 10, for vendors that sell local produce, baked goods and more.
