How to Throw a Healthy (and Fun) Classroom Party

Back to school means classroom parties, fundraisers and after school events. And with those celebrations come pizza, chips, cupcakes and cookiesβnot a smart (or healthy) way to party! Healthy celebrations teach kids a valuable lesson about positive lifestyle choices. Smart move, parents!
Here are five ways you can get your kids to be healthy while having fun at classroom parties, provided by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
- Ditch the sugary drinks.Β Encourage water, not soda, sports drinks or juice.
- Limit sweet treats. Serve plenty of colorfulΒ fruit and veggiesΒ instead.
- Take the focus off food by planningΒ more activities.
- Create a scavenger hunt, do arts and crafts, have a dance party or enjoy extra playground time.
