3-Vehicle Pileup Kills Child, Injures 6 Others On I-20: DeKalb Police
An SUV that hit a median wall was then hit by two other vehicles, injuring a 9-year-old child and killing an 11-year-old child, police say.
DEKALB COUNTY, GA — An 11-year-old child died Monday in a three-vehicle crash that injured six other people, including a 9-year-old child, on Interstate 20 west near Turner Hill Road, DeKalb County Police said.
The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. after an SUV hit a median wall and landed next to the highway, police told Patch. Another vehicle then struck the SUV, forcing the SUV to spin before being hit by another vehicle, police said.
The child, who was not identified, died while at Arthur M. Blank Hospital (Children's Healthcare of Atlanta), Fox 5 Atlanta reported.

The crash critically injured a man, while others are expected to survive their injuries, police said.
Investigators are working to determine what caused the SUV to hit the median wall, police said.
