Man Shot, Killed In Snellville Home Invasion
A man was shot and killed in a Snellville home invasion Monday, the second break-in reported in the area in a couple of days.

SNELLVILLE, GA – A man was shot and killed in a Snellville home invasion Monday, the second home invasion in the area in a couple of days.
Kemar Hawkins, 27, was shot in his home in the 3500 Block of Grand Manor Trail, in Snellville, at approximately 4:17 a.m., police say. The investigation led police to believe the murder was the result of a home invasion.
A person made entry into the residence by prying the screen off of an open window, police determined. At this time, detectives are looking into any and all calls in the area of this crime to see if there are any similarities or useful information that could be related.

Police also confirmed that on July 28 there was a home invasion that occurred in the same neighborhood that had similar characteristics. Out of an abundance of caution, police are reminding residents to fully secure their homes by locking all doors and windows.
