Chaunte Lowe Going for the Gold, Keeping an Eye on Her Daughter

Georgia Olympians can use preschool cams to stay connected.

As if competing in the Olympics wasn’t hard enough, participants who are parents have to cope with leaving their children at home. Two Georgians competing in the 2012 Olympics can find relief in watching their children via the password-protected webcams at the Kids ‘R’ Kids Schools and Academies they are attending.

Chaunte Lowe, competing in the women’s high jump on Saturday, is known for expressing that leaving her two daughters at home can adversely affect her performance at meets. She knew she’d have to leave the girls when she qualified for London, but watching her youngest Aurora at Kids ‘R’ Kids Snellville can help her get sleep at night.

Another well-known parent of a Kids ‘R’ Kids preschooler is Justin Gatlin – who finished only behind Usain Bolt and Yohan Black in the 100-meter dash last Sunday to receive a bronze medal. His daughter has been cheering for him from her school in Lawrenceville and will do so again tonight as he competes as part of the US sprint relay team.

With little downtime, the parents can steal away for a few minutes in the Olympic Village to become involved with their child’s daily activities by viewing the secure site, always available to Kids ‘R’ Kids parents.

“Parents have always loved and utilized the Internet access to their children, as well as the glass walls that offer maximum visibility and safety. I’m sure the Olympic athletes are taking every chance they get to view their children,” said Janine Hardy, owner of Kids ‘R’ Kids Lawrenceville. “Mr. Gatlin is very involved with his family and has already confirmed he will come show his medal – maybe medals! – to his daughter’s class, and we are all very excited.”

Across the nation, everyone will be cheering Lowe and Gatlin on as they go for the gold Friday and Saturday – but none louder than their children. Kids ‘R’ Kids supports its parents and children in all endeavors and will welcome the athletes home next week.
