"The pregame unity will be an amazing image of our young athletes and police officers embraced in the promise of Gwinnett!," said Terrence Stover, associate head varsity football coach and defensive line coach. "Through education, character building, and positive community guidance; Gwinnett's future will be led by high character individuals who will morally guide us to prosperity."

In a show of support and unity, and in an effort to honor the life and service of Officer Antwan Toney. The South Gwinnett and Grayson Football teams will link their arms with our local police stations.
Officer Toney was a member of our South Precinct which protects both the Snellville and Grayson Areas.
Here at South, we work hard to fulfill all points of our H.A.R.D. Acronym.
Officer Toney was a prime example of this Creed.
Hustle, Attitude, Respect, and Discipline were shown in every aspect of his work. He served and protected, and he was committed to accomplishing his goals to become what he dreamed to be.
As these teams and police forces unite, please enjoy this poem written by South Gwinnett English Teacher - John Leece:
Only 30
Only 30,
Yet
He gave everything
Officer Toney gave his life
Not just in death
But daily
With each breath
He gave to the teens he mentored
For the citizens on his beat
Grandmas, little kids, families
For the homeless guy on the street
He loved his family deeply
His brothers in blue
He sacrificed his life
For me and for you
His gleaming smile
Shining light from his heart
Spilled out like a canvas
A true work of art
Teams stand together
All for one, one for all
We must all come together
We must answer the call
Officer Toney stepped up
Will we do the same?
Will we serve and sacrifice
Will we honor his name?
Only 30
Yet
He gave everything
