Student Stabbed Trying To Stop Fight At Gwinnett School
A student is facing charges in connection with the stabbing of another student who was trying to break up a fight at a Gwinnett high school.
SNELLVILLE, GA — A student was injured in a stabbing Wednesday at South Gwinnett High School, and another student was charged in connection with the incident, Principal Rodney Jordan said in a letter to families.
Patch has obtained a copy of the letter. Around 7 a.m., the injured student was attempting to stop a fight between two students at the time of the stabbing, Jordan said.
The injured student was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK, he said.

The students who were fighting will be disciplined by the school, and the student accused of stabbing their classmate was arrested and criminally charged, Jordan said. No students were identified.
"Let me be clear: what happened today is unacceptable and will not be tolerated at South Gwinnett High School," he said.

He later continued: "I understand how unsettling this news may be for students and families, but I want to reassure you that we are taking this matter very seriously. The safety and security of students and staff remain our highest priority. Our leadership team responded swiftly and effectively, ensuring that the school day continued without disruption and that all students remained safe and secure."
