• His grandfather started a construction firm in 1884 in Janesville, which is still family owned, according to the Washington Post. 
• Also according to the Washington Post, he drove a Wienermobile for Oscar Meyer while he was in college.  
• He was one of three co-founders of the Young Guns program, according to the National Republican Congressional Committee.
