1 Dead, 1 Injured In Related Crashes In Cobb Co.
A woman riding a bicycle was hit by a SUV that fled the scene before a motorcycle hit the debris from her bicycle, killing the driver.
MABLETON, GA — Cobb County Police are asking for the public's help after a man was killed, and a woman was injured, in a series of crashes Tuesday.
Police said Wednesday a 32-year-old Marietta woman was riding a bicycle while trying to cross Veterans Memorial Highway near Puckett Drive.
A black SUV then crashed into the woman in the westbound lanes and fled the scene, police said. The woman was ejected from the bicycle, which remained connected to the SUV before landing in the center lane.

Subsequently, 38-year-old Mableton resident Christopher Johnson was driving a silver 2008 Harley Davidson Street Bob east on Veterans Memorial toward Puckett. Police said Johnson's motorcycle then crashed into debris from the woman's bicycle, causing Johnson to lose control.
Police said the motorcycle then crashed into a curb, ejecting Johnson. Both Johnson and the motorcycle landed in separate areas along Veterans Memorial. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The woman was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
