Cops: Austell Burglary Suspect Couldn't Figure Out Home's Lock System

Though the alleged incident happened in March, a warrant for Corey La'mar Ross' arrest was not issued until last week.

An Austell man who allegedly broke into a home in the 7200 block of Crestside Drive could not get out of the residence and had to call his sister for help.

Corey La'mar Ross allegedly entered the home between 2:50 p.m. and 3:02 p.m. March 31 and was unable to remove a flatscreen TV, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

Though the alleged incident happened in March, a warrant for Ross' arrest was not issued until last week.

"Accused was locked inside the house because he could not figure out the locking system on the rear door," the Cobb County police officer wrote in the warrant. "Accused then called his sister, who lives down the street from the incident location, and asked her and (and another individual) if they could come help him."

Ross' sister and and the other person "both wrote out written statements detailing their communication with Corey Ross," records show.

Ross faces a charge of burglary in the first degree.
