The incident occurred just after 10 a.m. Friday.

A man with an outstanding warrant allegedly kicked in the front door of a Mabelton woman's residence in an attempt to hide from police.

The incident occurred just after 10 a.m. Friday in the 5000 block of Carol Circle. An additional warrant was issued that day for the arrest of Eric Lee Collins on charges of criminal trespassing damage, simple battery and cruelty to children in the third degree.

In the Cobb County criminal warrant, authorities wrote that Collins grabbed the woman with his right hand, placed it around her throat and pushed her against a wall. At the time, she was holding her 18-month-old son, records show.
