Enjoy free family 'Mooovies at the Mable'
Cobb Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department staff will host Mooovies at the Mable events as the back to school countdown begins. The first movie will be "The Muppets" Thursday, July 26. Families are invited to watch the Muppets reunite with the help of the world's biggest Muppet fan and his two friends. "The Lorax" will be the feature film Thursday, Aug. 2, and is an adaptation of the classic Dr. Seuss tale beginning with a 12-year-old boy yearning for the affection of the girl of his dreams. "Hairspray" is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 9, and is about the pleasantly-plump teenage Tracy Turnblad teaching 1962 Baltimore about integration after landing a spot on a local TV dance show.
These are free events and the movies will start at dusk with gates opening at 7:30 p.m. Mable House is located at 5239 Floyd Road in Mableton. For more information, visit mablehouse.org.
