Flex Bus Coming to South Cobb
A pilot bus service called Flex Service will soon be available to residents of District 4.

Starting this fall, Cobb Community Transit will provide a pilot bus service called Flex Route Service to riders in District 4. The proposed route, funded by federal and local grants, will provide stops between Austell and Cumberland Mall in the Smyrna-Vinings area.
A Flex Route bus picks up and drops off passengers at designated stops, and also flexes off its route up to three-quarters of a mile to serve people who have difficulty getting to a regular bus stop.
This shared ride, public transportation service is designed to help serve the unmet mobility needs of the community by combining the benefits of traditional fixed routes and demand response services.

The route also has the flexibility to stop at places other than the regular bus stops when a passenger has made a reservation in advance. Requests for deviated service may be made on the preceding business day that service is requested. However, additional notice is recommended. Reservations may be made between the designated hours Monday through Friday.
South Cobb residents will be able to learn more about flex service and provide their feedback at the following scheduled public meetings:
- 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, June 11: South Cobb Government Center, 4700 Austell Road, Austell.
- 6:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday, June 27: Ron Anderson Recreation Center, 3820 Macedonia Road, Powder Springs.
