Good Samaritan Injured In Hit-And-Run While Helping Austell Woman
Before the good Samaritan was taken to a hospital, he was able to help police identify the hit-and-run suspect, leading to an arrest.
AUSTELL, GA — A good Samaritan helping a woman whose car had broken down Tuesday at Cardell Road was injured after a second car hit the woman's car and fled the scene, Cobb County Police said Wednesday.
The hit-and-run happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Cardell, where the 63-year-old Austell woman's 2005 Honda Accord had issues and was stopped in the southbound lane.
Police said a 53-year-old Austell man who lived near the scene helped the woman.

While the man was helping the woman, a black 2008 Lexus 460 being driven by 43-year-old Austell resident Anthony Sarfo was traveling south on Cardell and hit the left rear of the Honda, police said.
The good Samaritan was either hit by the Honda or Lexus and sustained severe injuries, police said. He was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

The woman was also injured and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, police said.
Before the man was taken to Wellstar, police said he was able to provide critical information about Sarfo's vehicle. Police then found the Lexus at a Malvin Drive home.
Sarfo was treated at a hospital for his injuries and taken to the Cobb Adult Detention Center, police said.
