Cops: Mableton Man Attempted to Burn Woman's Feet, Left Knee

He was arrested Saturday on charges of simple battery and aggravated assault.

A Mableton man is accused of using a lighter in an attempt to burn a woman's feet and left knee.

Around 5 a.m. Saturday, Donchevell Martese Cotto allegedly picked up the woman from the floor, threw her on the couch, repeatedly slapped her face, grabbed her neck and punched the right side of her abdomen, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

Using a lighter, Cotto "attempted to burn the tops of both of the victim's feet causing the victim to pull her feet away due to the heat," a Cobb County police officer wrote in the warrant. "Accused then attempted to burn the victim's left knee area causing a visible burn mark to the pajama pants she was wearing."
