Man Charged With Murder After Woman Found Dead In Austell

The woman's body was found in the wood line in the area of Joe Jerkins Boulevard and Landers Street after her car was found burning nearby.

AUSTELL, GA — A 21-year-old man was arrested in Louisiana in connection with the Aug. 23 death of Beauty Couch, Cobb County Police said Saturday.

Police said Eugene Louis-Jocques was charged on suspicion of murder, arson and aggravated assault. He was being held in the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Facility and was awaiting extradition to Cobb County.

Couch's body was found in the wood line in the area of Joe Jerkins Boulevard and Landers Street after her car was found burning nearby, police said in the past.

Police said Couch had not been seen since the prior day. Foul play was suspected in her death.

An official cause of death has not been released.
