Marietta Woman Killed In Powder Springs Crash
The woman's vehicle veered off of the roadway and went into the grass shoulder, eventually crashing into a concrete drainage pipe.
POWDER SPRINGS — A 58-year-old Marietta woman was killed Thursday evening in a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Lost Mountain Road and Macland Woods Drive, Cobb County Police said Friday.
Police said the crash happened around 6:45 p.m., when a beige 2002 Nissan Pathfinder was going east on Lost Mountain and veered out of its lane for unknown reasons and went into the southern grass shoulder.
The Pathfinder then returned to the roadway before traveling back into the grass shoulder and crashing into a concrete drainage pipe, police said. The Pathfinder tripped and uncontrollably landed on its driver's side, police said.

The driver of the Pathfinder, identified by police as Margaret Hamby, died of her injuries at the scene, police said.
Cobb County Police's Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Unit is investigating the crash.
