Every startup begins with a spark. First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta is now accepting applications for the 2026 cohort of its Epiphany program, a faith-based social entrepreneurship incubator supporting startups tackling today’s most pressing challenges. Epiphany is an evergreen initiative that equips entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions to social issues with funding, mentorship, and strategic guidance. If you are an emerging founder with a vision to address societal challenges often overlooked by traditional markets, Epiphany offers the resources needed to help your venture grow. Examples of qualifying ventures include businesses that employ formerly incarcerated individuals or adults with developmental challenges, as well as enterprises offering services such as coding training for refugees or mechanical skills development in low-income communities. Since its launch, Epiphany has awarded nearly half a million dollars in grants and supported multiple successful ventures, including Refuge Coffee Co., PadSplit, and Purposeful Gourmet Foods. Charges are expected to the filed in a Tuesday night crash on Riverside Parkway that killed an Austell woman. According to a press release from police, the driver of a gold 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was northbound on Riverside at a high speed and lost control of the vehicle, colliding with a bicyclist on the western shoulder.  The vehicle continued northbound, leaving the roadway and striking a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn and land in the parking lot of 270 Riverside Parkway.   The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to Grady Memorial Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Monte Carlo is identified as 31-year-old Therman Kilcrease of Austell. He was transported by ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center and treated for injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, 52-year old Ollie Regina Jones of Austell was pronounced deceased at the scene. This collision is under investigation and charges are expected to be filed. Anyone with information about this crash that may help investigators is asked to call (770) 499-3987.
