Check out live updates from State Rep. Alisha Morgan (D-Austell) who is serving as a Georgia delegate at the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC.

State Rep. Alisha Morgan (D-Austell) is sending live updates from the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, where she is serving as a Georgia delegate.

9:44 p.m. Wednesday

We are sitting in the Time Warner Arena, awaiting the major events for the night. One is the speech and official placing of Barack Obama's name as the Democratic nominee by Former President Bill Clinton. The second, very special to me, is witnessing Dr. Joseph E Lowery speak on behalf of Georgia during the official roll call of the states. The energy inside the arena is electric, and everyone is still talking about First Lady Michelle Obama's speech. What I've appreciated most about our convention as compared to the Republicans', is that we can stand on President Obama's record. The tone of the speeches are positive and factual. We have to keep moving this country forward. It's a blessing to be able to spend my 34th birthday in Charlotte supporting our President and seeing him return to providing strong leadership and vision of hope for this country another four years.

Overview of the day:

John Kerry was awesome. He "went hard" on Mitt Romney and told him before he debates Barack Obama on foreign policy, he should first finish the debate in his own head.

Former Gov. Granholm (MI) had the entire arena up on our feet. She was energetic and powerful. Today's speakers were hard-hitting, but not negative; (they were) focused on the issues and set the record straight.

10:44 p.m. Thursday

I am bursting with pride as I sit in the Time Warner Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina listening to our, to MY president give his acceptance speech. We didn't hear negative speeches all day about what's wrong. Instead, we were reminded of the President's strong record and inspired to believe in and work together towards a better America. We have to re-elect President Barack Obama because we cannot go back. We must move forward.
