Six Flags Council on Opportunity Zone Seeks Family Coach
The family coach will work closely with 100 families in the 30168 ZIP code.

The United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta , and the organization is providing additional funding for a three-year effort to help improve the living conditions there in various ways.
The Six Flags Corridor Council on Opportunity Zone (COZ), which oversees the funding and implementation of a strategic development plan it submitted in 2011, is seeking a family coach to help serve 100 families in the 30168 area.

According to the job description, the purpose of COZ is to "enhance the quality of life for residents in the Six Flags Drive Community by stimulating economic growth and job opportunities, enriching educational programs to invigorate learning and build job skills of the current and future workforce, promote healthy living, strengthening families and engaging members of the community, including stakeholders in government, faith-based and non-profit entities."
The Family Coach will be based in the Six Flags Drive/Austell community with access office space, when needed. A great deal of the Coach’s time will be out in the community with the expectancy to interact with families in various environments, as needed.

HOURS/COMPENSATION: Full-time (40+ hours per week; $40,000 salary)
Flexibility to work until tasks are completed.
PURPOSE: To empower and connect families with skills and resources towards self-sufficiency
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: THE FAMILY COACH will be responsible to:
• Recruit families to participate within Six Flags Drive/Austell designated area
• Provide family support, ongoing communication, and coaching to families
• Facilitate a family assessment/intake procedures, assist families in developing a strength and solution-based family plan
• Monitor client progress by utilizing data software
• Identify resources that will assist families achieve self-sufficiency
• Maintain calendar of events onsite and remote places, as determined
• Foster positive relationships with Service Providers and prospective Partners
• Plan events for family and community participation
• Identify trends and share observations and insights with COZ
• Update Schedule of Events weekly
• Maintain adequate supplies for the Programs Six Flags Drive – Austell
Opportunity Zone
• Prepare biweekly status updates and provide updates at monthly COZ meetings
• Collect data and prepare reports as requested by the COZ
Required Experience & Skills
• Knowledge of Six Flags Drive/Austell and relationships in the community highly recommended
• Successful with inter-agency collaborations
• Friendly, dynamic interpersonal skills with people in various economic stations
• Strong communication skills verbally and in written form
• Ability to motivate individuals and families
• Enjoys working in a multi-cultural environment; demonstrated multi-cultural literacy
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, client information systems)
• Strong organizational skills; Close attention to details
• Knowledge of Education, Health, and Workforce Development issues a plus, but not required
• Ability to multi-task
