2 Wanted in Austell Craigslist Robbery

The incident occurred about 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators with the Cobb County Police Department are looking for the two suspects who responded to a Craigslist ad, met with the authors of the ad in Austell Wednesday night and robbed them at gunpoint.

The Craigslist advertisers wanted to purchase a vehicle for cash, said Officer Mike Bowman, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department.

After an exchange, both sides agreed to meet at a location on Copperbend Court that turned out to be an abandoned residence.

When the buyers arrived around 10 p.m. Wednesday, two tall black men in dark hooded sweatshirts and dark pants approached them, Bowman said. Both had guns. The duo demanded money, which they received before running away toward Six Flags Parkway, Bowman said.

Both of the suspects are thin, possibly in their 20s and between 5-feet-10 and 5-feet-11. One had a low haircut. The other had dreadlocks that were either shoulder length or slightly shorter.
