UPDATE: No Charges Filed Against Man Who Drove Car into Pool
No one was in the pool at the time and the extent of the driver's injuries are unknown at this time.

UPDATE: Smyrna police report that the man who drove his car into the Oakdale Bluffs neighborhood pool was conscious and in good spirits when he was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.
Lt. Robert Harvey confirmed that the man lost control of his vehicle and drove it into the pool at about 2:45 p.m. Two bystanders rescued the man from the water and told police it appeared that he’d had a seizure.
Harvey said a hazardous materials team had been called to clean up oil and gas from the scene. He said no charges will be filed.

ORIGINAL STORY: A man was rescued Thursday after he drove his car into a swimming pool in Oakdale Bluffs, which has a Mableton ZIP code but is adjacent to Smyrna, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported. No one was in the pool at the time of the accident.
Two men were painting the pool’s clubhouse when the accident occurred and rescued the driver. Smyrna police could not be reached for comment at this time, but the men told the AJC that it appeared the driver had suffered a seizure.
