Woman Killed in Connector Wreck in South Cobb: Police
Detectives continue to investigate Friday-afternoon crash, according to Cobb County Police.

AUSTELL, GA — Cobb County detectives are investigating a fatal car wreck after 5:30 p.m. Friday at the East-West Connector and Brookwood Drive in Austell, according Cobb County Police.
According to police, the victim was driving a gold 2002 Honda Accord and legally attempting a left turn onto the the connector to travel westbound when a 2016 Dodge Durango heading east on the connector allegedly disregarded a red light and struck her car.
"After being struck, the Honda travelled up and onto the raised concrete median where it stopped after the rear bumper collided with a sign," according to a release by Sgt. Dana Pierce.

The victim was identified as 45-year-old Lakeisha Clark, of Austell. She was transported to Wellstar South Cobb, where she was pronounced dead, according to Pierce.
The driver of the Dodge, age 33, of Atlanta, is being treated for injuries that are not life threatening.
