Investigators used license-plate readers, motel records, and social media video to identify the group, while a fourth suspect from Lithonia remains at large and none of the stolen luxury items have been recovered.

• 8 charged with RICO for thefts at major retailers in Georgia, Tennessee (wsbtv.com) — A Stone Mountain resident is among eight people indicted in Georgia on racketeering and shoplifting charges tied to alleged thefts from big-box retailers like Home Depot, Walmart, Lowe’s, and Target. Prosecutors say the groups repeatedly stole tools, electronics, and household goods from stores across Georgia and Tennessee, highlighting ongoing concerns about organized retail theft.

Second Georgia House Member Charged For Pandemic Fraud (blackenterprise.com) — A former state representative from Stone Mountain, Karen Bennett, has been charged with allegedly lying to obtain nearly $14,000 in pandemic unemployment benefits and has pleaded not guilty in federal court. She recently resigned her Georgia House seat covering parts of DeKalb and Gwinnett, and a special election will be called to fill the vacancy as federal fraud investigations continue statewide.
