Baseball, Bidding and More in Suwanee This Weekend

Memorial Day events will be Friday and Saturday in Town Center Park.

The multi-use nature of Suwanee Town Center Park will be evident again on Friday and Saturday (May 24-25), leading into Memorial Day, according to a city news release.

On Friday, the University of West Georgia band will perform. And on Saturday, there will be televised Atlanta Braves baseball -- and an auction for a piece of the Berlin Wall.

  • CONCERT: The University of West Georgia band will perform beginning at 7:15 p.m. on the amphitheater stage. The band is made up of advanced woodwind, brass, and percussion players at West Georgia, which is based in Carrollton.
  • ATLANTA BRAVES BASEBALL: A big screen television will be set up in the park for the Atlanta Braves-New York Mets game from the Big Apple. The Braves are bringing the TV as well as inflatables, activities, and mascot Homer to Suwanee for the game. Activities begin about 6 p.m. with a performance by the Full Circle band; first pitch is at 7:15.
  • BERLIN WALL ARTIFACT AUCTION: The artifact from the Berlin Wall that has been on display recently in front of City Hall will be auctioned off. Beginning at 4:30 p.m., Auction Management Corporation will take bids online and on site for the 8,000-pound piece. Proceeds will be used to pay back victims of a Ponzi scheme. The live auction webcast will be at www.auctionEbid.com.
