Suwanee budgets in recent years have devoted the majority of funds to police and public works.
Another variable in the mix is the 2009 Gwinnett SPLOST program, which expires on March 31, 2014. According to Suwanee budget documents, the city anticipated receiving $1.8 million from SPLOST in FY 2013. That represents about 15 percent of the current Suwanee budget.

Gwinnett officials are making plans for a possible Nov. 5 public vote on renewing SPLOST beginning in 2014.
Also, Suwanee has decreased its millage rate, which is used to determine property taxes, each of the past three years. There is no official word yet whether that will continue for FY 2014.
