Things Are Poppin' in Suwanee

The recent news that Eve 6, a popular rock band, will play in Suwanee in August just adds to the activities planned in and around the city.

Glancing at the calendar shows that some of the coming events include:

• Food Truck Friday: Mobile food vendors will return to Town Center Park on June 7. The event begins about 7 p.m. with several vendors, and live music also will be coming from the amphitheater stage.
• Movie night: On Saturday, June 8, the 2012 release of "The Amazing Spider-Man" will be shown on a big screen at Town Center Park. The screening will begin shortly after dusk.
• Broadway in the Park: On July 26-27, theater production will take over Town Center Park, coordinated with Suwanee Performing Arts.
• Eve 6: The popular rock group best known for the hit "Inside Out" will come to town on August 10 for a free concert.
• Suwanee Day: The city's signature festival will be in full bloom on September 21.

And also worth noting is that Everett's Music Barn still is hosting its Saturday night bluegrass performing sessions on Stonecypher Road.
