Cobb Easter Egg Hunts, Scrambles Begin This Weekend

Looking for Easter egg action in West Cobb or other spots in the county? Your kids have plenty of opportunities to fill up on treats, enter contests, watch the Easter Bunny skydive, and of course, hunt for eggs at these area Easter season events.

Clarkdale UMC Easter Egg Hunt

Clarkdale UMC will hold its Annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m. behind the Sunshine Building. The public is invited and children of all ages are welcome.

Easter Egg Scramble at Laurel Park

and Facilities Easter Egg Scramble will take place at Laurel Park, 151 Manning Road, March 22, at 6:30 p.m. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos after the Egg Scramble.

Acworth Easter Egg Hunt

The City of Acworth Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with Freedom Church to bring kids a fresh spin on a time-honored tradition. The Easter Bunny will be dropping in on Friday, March 22, at the Acworth Sports Complex, located at 4000 South Main St. Acworth, GA 30101. He is bringing 50,000 eggs filled with candy. The Easter Bunny will skydive in at 8 p.m.

The hunt will be for all children through the 5th grade. The children will be divided into four age groups:

  • The 0 - 3-year-old group will begin at 8 p.m.
  • The PreK - Kindergarten group will begin at 8:15 p.m.
  • The 1st grade - 3rd grade group will begin at 8:30 p.m.
  • The 4th grade - 5th grade group will also begin at 8:45 p.m.Β 
  • There will be a Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt on the Horizon Field at 7:30 p.m.

Smyrna Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt & Movie by Moonlight

Enjoy a new twist to a beloved holiday traditionβ€”hunting Easter Eggs in the dark this Saturday, March 23 at Tolleson Park located at 3515 McCauley Road, Smyrna.

Children up to age 10 years are asked bring a flashlight and Easter basket, and will be divided into age groups with the youngest beginning their hunt at dusk. Following the hunt, all are invited to watch the full-length feature film Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (PG rated).

Cobb's 2013 Egg Hunt

Cobb County’s "Largest Egg Hunt" will take place on Saturday, March 23, at Jim Miller Park, 2245 Callaway Road, Marietta. The event begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. The 2013 Hunt will feature children’s art activities, live entertainment, inflatables and concessions. The Easter Bunny will be on hand to visit with children; and there will be contests, including the Mad Hatter Contest and Decorated Basket Contest.

There will be five egg hunts, which will be broken down into age groups. In each hunt, there will be special prize eggs.

The schedule of events is as follows:

  • 10 a.m. - Park opens
  • 10:30 a.m. - 3 years & under hunt
  • 11 a.m. - 4 & 5 years hunt
  • 11:30 a.m. – Special Populations
  • 12 p.m. - 6 & 7 years hunt
  • 12:30 p.m. - 8-10 years hunt
  • 1 p.m. - Mad Hatter’s Contest / Easter Basket Contest
  • 2 p.m. - Park closes

City of Kennesaw's Easter Egg Scramble

Hippity hop over to Adams Park for an Easter Egg Scramble and other kid-friendly activities including crafts, face painting, inflatables and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Children will be separated by age groups for the Scramble. The Scramble is free, and open to all children ages 12 and under. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Taylor Farm Park Easter Egg Hunt

Free food, 10,000 Easter eggs and an iPad giveaway are the highlights of this event, which will be held Saturday, March 30, at 11 a.m. at Taylor Farm Park, 1380 Pine Valley Road, Powder Springs.

Northeast Cobb Community Egg Drop

Last year almost 8,000 people came out for the Northeast Cobb Egg Drop. This year's event will take place on March 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with individual egg hunt times separated by grade level (Preschool, K-2nd, and 3rd-5th, etc.). In addition to thousands of eggs on the field at Sprayberry High School, thousands more will be dropped from a helicopter. Kids can also expect inflatables, food, vendors, music, face painting and a visit from the Easter Bunny. For more information, visit the Northeast Cobb Egg Drop website.
