More Properties To Be Added To Cobb Parks Bond
The Board of Commissioners recommends more properties be added to list of possible green spaces in parks bond issue.

WEST COBB, GA -- Cobb County's bid to buy up land parcels for park space has hit some snags, the Board of Commissioners learned Monday. The attorney handling negotiations with land owners on behalf of the county told the panel at an executive session that plans for several of the properties have fallen through.
Commissioners approved a $27.4 million bond measure for parks in April in expectation of purchasing 10 properties for green space, but nearly half of them are no longer under consideration.
“Of the original 10 properties identified as the highest in priority, four have been removed from consideration based on the fact that the county was not able to reach an agreement with property owners or the properties were unsuitable for park purposes,” Pat Riley, the real estate attorney in the County Attorney’s Office, said in a news release.

Properties on Baker, Post Oak Tritt, Fowler, and Kurtz Roads are among those removed from the list, the county said.
The board has recommended that more properties be added to the list for consideration, Riley said.
