Update: Powder Springs Woman Found

Gwendolyn Brown, 77, was discovered conscious and alert a few hundred yards from her home on Defoors Farm Trail.

Powder Springs resident Gwendolyn Brown, 77, was located in a wooded area approximately 300 to 400 yards away from her home in the 4300 block of Defoors Farm Trail, according to a news release sent out by Cobb County police about 2:50 p.m.

She was conscious and alert and was transported to Wellstar South Cobb Hospital because of slight dehydration.

A Mattie's Call for Brown was issued on Sunday about 3 p.m. She had apparently walked away between midnight and 7 a.m. that morning.

A 77-year-old Powder Springs woman, Gwendolyn Brown, went missing this morning, and Cobb County police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued a Mattie's Call for her at 3 p.m.

Brown lives in the 4300 block of Defoors Farm Trail, where she apparently walked away between midnight and 7 a.m. today. She suffers from dementia and high blood pressure and is blind in one eye. She also walks in a slumped-over manner.

She likely is on foot, police said. She was last seen wearing a white short-sleeve top, gray jogging pants with an aqua stripe, and black, open-heel, leather loafers.

She is 5-foot-6 and 170 pounds. She has brown eyes and gray hair.

Police ask that if you see Brown or have any information about her location, call 911.
