Woman Punched, Kicked in Powder Springs

The woman's husband is wanted in connection with the alleged incident.

When Derrell Lamar King was prohibited from taking his 5-month-old daughter, tensions escalated Friday inside a Powder Springs home.

According to a Cobb County criminal warrant, the Smyrna man went to his wife's home in the 2400 block of Chauncey Lane just after 7 p.m. May 10. When he attempted to take their daughter, his wife "did not allow a transfer of custody based on her husband's history of abuse," a Cobb police officer wrote in the warrant.

King allegedly punched and kicked his wife, who was taken to a local hospital with multiple bruises to her arms.
