Here are the top five stories today in Woodstock-Towne Lake:
- The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing/runaway child out of Acworth. The 12 year old, Leland Eubanks, was last seen on Monday near his home around 9 p.m. Eubanks is described as a white male, 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 98 pounds with brown hair. He was wearing a red University of Georgia sweatshirt with the word "Championship" on the front, black basketball shorts and white and black shoes when he went missing. If you have seen the missing child or have any information about his whereabouts, please contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 770-928-0239 or 911. (Cherokee Sheriff's Office via Facebook)
- As if you'd need any other reasons to attend this Thursday's "Prehistoric Night" in Downtown Woodstock, organizers have released the full schedule for the evening. The Family Fun Night events are huge, taking over much of Main and Chambers streets from 5-7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month with themed activities, movies and food and drink specials. My Reptile Guys will be at Thursday's event, offering an up-close look at real-life reptiles. There's even themed trivia, face painting, Pie Bar Pie Walks, chalk drawing, crafts and so much more. - The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is participating in this Saturday's Alternative Baseball Organization (ABO) baseball game, with members of the department going up to bat with and in support of teens and adults with disabilities. The 1 p.m. game will also include local leaders and celebrities in a 7-inning exhibition game. It's free to attend, so head over to the Tommy Mann Baseball Fields with the family. - Just in time to ease the heat suddenly upon us, the Oasis at the Cherokee County Aquatic Center is opening up on Saturday, May 27. The outdoor pool has a water playground, two water slides and lots of fun features for the tiny kids, along with pavilions, family restrooms, locker rooms and cabana rentals. You can pay the entry fee when you get there or get season passes for the family. From May 27-July 30, the hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. daily, except on Sunday, when it will be open from noon-5 p.m. (Cherokee Recreation & Parks)
- Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services (CCFES) was called out just before 8 a.m. for a house fire on Hogan Pond Lane. The responding units arrived at the single-story home to see fire and smoke coming from the roof, Hogan Pond Lane was closed while responders worked on the fire. The home was heavily damaged, but there were no injuries reported, and a search found nobody inside. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. (CCFES News and CCFES via Facebook)

- freeCodeCamp: Learn to code for free at the in-person, hybrid and remote study group every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at The Circuit, 1 Innovation Way. (noon - 1 p.m.)
- Trivia Night with Lights Up! Entertainment: Prizes for first, second and third place teams every Wednesday at Reformation Brewery, 105 Elm St. (7 - 9 p.m.)
- Napa Valley's Duckhorn Vineyard Wine Dinner: The 5-course pairing dinner includes sear wagyu beef, stuffed Cipollini onion and endive and frisée salad. Rootstock is located at 8558 Main St. (7 - 9:30 p.m.)
- Dating Sim, But In Real Life: The Blue Ghost Arcade is holding their first dating simulator, and it's for those 18 and up to mingle with other singles in the area. The full bar will be open, and the entry fee includes unlimited gaming all night. The arcade is located at 164 Towne Lake Parkway. (8 p.m.)

- There's a special storytime going on at The Park at City Center on Saturday. The "Storytime Live!" event is hosted by the FoxTale Book Shoppe and Woodstock Parks and Recreation, and the themed morning event will feature the Princess Leia character reading a story and taking photos with your little ones. The free event starts at 11 a.m. (Visit Woodstock)
- Woodstock Arts is starting the "Screen on the Green" movie series back up for the year. This weekend, "Big Hero" will be showing on the screen on the Event Green downtown at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Bring along folding chairs or blankets to get nice and comfy. Movies coming up in the series include "Sonic The Hedgehog 2" on June 11 and "Soul" on June 25. (Woodstock Arts)
- If you never had the chance to learn ballroom dancing as a youngster, Cherokee Recreation & Parks is offering a class to teach people of all ages the calming and confidence-building benefits of the dance style. You'll learn the Fox Trot, Cha-Cha and Swing in the upcoming June session. Classes will take place at The Buzz, 7345 Cumming Highway in Canton from June 6-27, you can sign up at the link. - Do you wish that you had Jessie's girl? Well, you can't. That's just not right. But you can go see Rick Springfield at the next concert in the Woodstock Summer Concert Series. The June 10 performance at the Amphitheater downtown will start at 7:30 p.m., and as we've seen, chairs to save spots will be set up as early as 6 a.m. the day prior. - The Service League of Cherokee County's "Golfing Fore! The Children" charity golf tournament is coming up on June 16. The tournament starts at 7:30 a.m. with registration and breakfast, and you'll also get a goodie bag and have time to purchase mulligans and raffle tickets before the shotgun start at 9 a.m. You can read more about the event and sign up at the link.
